Myanmar odds in six worked examples

The first time you see Myanmar odds, figures like H 1 (-32) or O 3 (-18) look like a puzzle. There are really only three rules. This article states them, then works through six results. Every example uses a stake of 10 credits (10,000 Ks) and a full-win payout of 0.95.

The three rules

1. If your side beats the line, you win in full.
2. If it falls short of the line, the stake is lost.
3. If the result lands exactly on the line, the price in brackets decides: a plus price wins that percentage, a minus price loses it.

"The line" is the goals given on a handicap, or the total goals on over/under.

Handicap examples: H 1 (-32)

The home team gives one goal at a price of 32 (minus). Say you backed the home team.

Example 1: home wins 3–1. A two-goal win beats the one-goal line. Full win: 9,500 Ks profit, 19,500 Ks back in total.

Example 2: home wins 2–1. A one-goal win lands exactly on the line. The price is -32, so you lose 32% of the stake (3,200 Ks) and get 6,800 Ks back.

Example 3: 1–1 draw. Having given a goal, the home side falls short. The 10,000 Ks stake is lost.

Backing the away team works the other way round: it is like taking a goal, so a draw or an away win is a full win, and a one-goal away defeat is settled at the away side's price (+32 in this example).

Over/under examples: O 3 (-18)

A three-goal line at a price of 18 (minus). Say you backed over.

Example 4: full time 3–1 (4 goals). Beats the line: full win, 19,500 Ks back.

Example 5: full time 2–1 (3 goals). Exactly on the line: you lose 18% (1,800 Ks) and get 8,200 Ks back.

Example 6: full time 1–1 (2 goals). Short of the line, so over loses. Whoever backed under wins in full.

Two things to check every time

• Prices move. They change before and during the match, so look at the figures on the slip before you confirm. On a slip such as 2(97) @ 0.95, the number in brackets is the price and the number after @ is what a full win pays.
• The amount on the slip is in credits. 1 credit = 1,000 Ks, so typing "10" is a 10,000 Ks bet.
